Whether counseling individuals or corporate fiduciaries, our
attorneys are sensitive to the personal nature of estate and tax planning, estate and trust
administration, and litigation, and are committed to addressing the unique concerns of each and
every one of our clients. We also offer extensive experience in structuring and counseling
charitable foundations on tax and corporate issues.
ESTATE PLANNING
Our trusts and estates attorneys assist clients in developing estate plans, often
focusing on complex estate, gift, income, and generation-skipping tax issues. We customize our
planning to address our clients’ specific needs and goals. Our attorneys are regularly involved in
complex estate and tax planning matters that require the use of techniques such as split interest
charitable trusts, grantor retained income trusts and unitrusts, irrevocable insurance trusts,
“dynasty trusts,” qualified domestic trusts, and family limited partnerships.
ESTATE ADMINISTRATION
The Schroeder Group counsels both corporate and individual executors, personal
representatives, trustees, and other fiduciaries in connection with the administration of probate
estates and trusts. Our attorneys handle a wide range of issues, including representation in state
and federal court proceedings; assistance with accounting and bookkeeping functions; and analysis of
complex income, estate, inheritance, and generation-skipping tax issues. We have extensive
experience preparing federal and state estate, inheritance, and generation-skipping tax returns for
fiduciaries, and representing the fiduciaries in tax audits and controversies.
